Projects and Plans 2017
Global Souls plans to continue both our domestic and international programs in 2017. Here are our plans:
- Domestically, we will continue to support students with our scholarship program.
- Internationally, we will continue to support our programs in Cambodia, for "at risk" children and food for the children of homeless families.
- We plan to partner with Himalayan Cataract Project to help end global blindness.
The Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP) was created in 1994 by Dr. Geoffrey Tabin and Dr. Sanduk Ruit with a goal of establishing a sustainable eye care infrastructure in the Himalayas. HCP eradicates curable blindness through quality ophthalmic care, education, and the creation of eye care centers.
From its beginning, HCP responds to the Himalayan region to preserve and restore eyesight. With programs in Nepal, Myanmar, Tibet, China, Bhutan, India, Sikkim, and Pakistan they have been able to restore sight to tens of thousands of blind people every year since 1994. Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness in developing worlds.
A $50.00 contribution and a 10-minute procedure deliver immediate life-changing eye care to the poor and underserved populations that otherwise go without.
